Grimerud Gård, YWAM Norway's main base since 1975, is home to most of the national administration and ministries working with families, children and teenagers. It runs many camps, seminars and weekend courses. Approximately 90 people live on the base, while most long-term staff live nearby. Ages of staff range from 20 to 70, with an average age of 30. There are about 15 nationalities from all the continents.

Grimerud is a large property surrounded by farmland. The main building houses the kitchen, dining-hall, living rooms, a dormitory and a cafe. In the office building is also a dormitory, gym-hall and a studio. Other buildings are a kindergarten and a dormitory. The former barn is used for events for up to 350 people, holds our publishing house "Prokla Media", and upstairs is a large prayer-room.

Grimerud Gård is an old farmstead, with part of the main building dating back to about 1819. It housed the Eckbo boarding school for boys from 1936 to 1972.

When looking for a main base in Norway, God gave YWAM a promise from Judges 18:9-10, about "a place where people live in safety, a spacious land where nothing will be lacking". He led us to Grimerud and fulfilled that promise.

We believe that God´s purpose for Grimerud is of strategic spiritual importance. Here, people from around the world have been blessed and set on fire for missions. We are a community of people from different cultures and denominations, with a variety of interests and ministry emphases. Together we desire to live out, and work toward fulfilling, the Great Commission.
