Grimerud is located in the small village of Ottestad, between Stange and Hamar. Ottestad lies 120 km north of Oslo, and 70 km from the Oslo Gardemoen airport.

You can take a train directly from the airport to Hamar. From there it is a ten-minute drive to Grimerud. Contact the base to arrange transportation from the train station.

On the E6, when coming from the north, take exit 67 (Hamar) on to road nr. 222. When coming on the E6 from the south, take exit 66 (Stange), on to road nr. 222. Follow the 222 towards Ottestad, and turn off at the sign Ottestad St. (This road is called Hvervagutua). After one kilometre, take the first major left turn after the railway bridge. At the junction there is a sign for "Grimerud Gård". Grimerud is on the right half a kilometre down the road.
